Well-known vegetation ecologist prof. Alireza Naqinezhad at the UO (UNIVERSITY OF OPOLE)

Dr. Alireza Naqinezhad, professor of biology at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Mazandaran, took part in a joint project between the University of Mazandaran and University of Opole, Poland. It is hoped that his visit to University of Opole can further enhance the bilateral cooperation between the two universities. Apart from the MoU that exists between the two universities, both have signed an MoU on developing the each other’s botanical gardens

Research interests of prof. Naqinezhad from the University of Mazandaran in Iran concentrate on the forest vegetation of the Hyrkani region and endemism, with s particular emphasis on the vegetation of Alborz Mountains (Elburs). He also deals with ecology and vegetation classification of wetlands (peat bogs, peat bogs) and transitional formations, mainly lasostep 
Prof. Naqinezhad gave a lecture entitled:  "Mountain Wetlands of Iran" during his stay at University of Opole, Poland. He then, along with other renowned botanists and environmentalists from the Institute of Biology of University of Opole, conducted workshops on the ordination and classification analyses using data which were collected on peat bogs and hammers of Central Asia and Iran. Consequently, it was decided to publish a joint publication on the vegetation classification of the mill and the source of the Irano-Turanian area
 
 
Professor Alireza Naqinezhad was a guest of the Institute of Biology of the University on 4-5.03.2019 at the invitation of dr hab. Arkadiusz Nowak, prof. University of Opole and as a part of Erasmus+ program that started from 2017 between the two universities of Mazandaran and Opol 
At the end of his stay in Opole, prof. Naqinezhad visited the Museum of the University of Opole, the castle in Moszna and got to know the early spring flora in Pomology Park in Prószków
