Afghan Students Can Now Study at University of Mazandaran!

On February 8, 2020, the Secretariat of the Foreign Nationals Commission announced that from now on, Afghan Students can study at University of Mazandaran.

With the continuous efforts of the officials of UMZ, the provincial government of Mazandaran, and the Organization of Student Affairs of Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, the permission for University of Mazandaran to accept Afghan students were granted. The conditions of this permission which was announced by a letter issued by the Director General of Non-Iranian Student Affairs at the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, are as follows:

  • Afghan students need to change their status
  • Afghan students need to get a student visa
  • Afghan students need to be a resident in the Province of Mazandaran

It is worth mentioning that previously, Afghan students could only study in the capital city of each province in Iran, and this is the first time that a license has been issued for a university outside the provincial capital. From now on, Afghan students can choose University of Mazandaran, the largest and oldest university in the north of Iran, for their future studies.
